In addition to his role passing on our legal values to the next generation of Wisconsin judges and attorneys, Ed believes we all have a responsibility to give back to the community. Over the last two decades he’s created and worked with organizations that help at-risk youth and low-income families in the Milwaukee area. Ed and his wife have also been active in organizations that support stem cell research, and the lifesaving breakthroughs to which it may lead.

Helping Families Get Access to Legal Services

Ed was the founding president of Centro Legal, a service that helps working families get access to legal counsel they could not otherwise afford. Centro Legal has helped hundreds of families.

Keeping Kids in School and Out of Gangs

Past-President of the Latino Community Center focusing on programs to keep kids in school, off the streets and out of gangs. After this community center opened crime went down in one of the near South Side’s roughest neighborhoods.

Supporting Lifesaving Research

Ed and his wife Heidi founded Wisconsin Stem Cell Now an advocacy and education group dedicated to the promotion of life saving medical research. Juvenile Diabetes has affected Ed’s family and he believes that this research could hold the cure many chronic diseases.
